Honeymooning In Mexico

From bustling Acapulco, which was the famous celebrity hot spot in the fifties, to idyllic Los Cabos, Mexico is a fabulous destination that has everything you need for a romantic honeymoon, from lavish beach resorts to a vibrant night life.

Acapulco was considered as one of the world’s most romantic destinations during the 1950s and 1960s. It is where Elizabeth Taylor and Mike Todd got married, Jack and Jacqueline Kennedy spent their honeymoon, and Elvis Presley filmed his cult movie Fun in Acapulco. With its amazing beaches, luxury accommodation, exciting nightlife and warm weather year round, this gorgeous coastal town, surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains is still one of the top honeymoon spots in the world.

Acapulco has superb beachfront hotels and resorts, but also glamorous discotheques and night clubs. Top attractions include La Quebrada cliffs, where you can watch spectacular sunsets or try cliff diving and the Acapulco Botanical Garden. If you want to go on an exciting day trip, we recommend a glass-bottom boat ride to Isla La Roqueta.

Los Cabos

Los Cabos

Los Cabos is perfect for couples who want to spend their honeymoon at a perfect beach hideaway, in a decadent beach resort. Located at the tip of the Baja peninsula, Los Cabos is one of the favourite holiday spots for celebrities such as George Clooney and Jennifer Aniston. It is picturesque and sunny and offers the freshest seafood, superior spas and world-class golf courses. The resorts have private pools and Jacuzzi tubs overlooking the sea, while the bars and restaurants are located in the adjacent towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.

A visit to the scenic Playa del Amor (Lovers Beach) is definitely a must for romantic couples. If you want to explore the magnificent underwater world, visit El Chileno underwater preserve, Bahia Santa Maria which is a beautiful cove surrounded by cliffs, El Arco where you can spot sea lions and Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park where you can observe colourful sea fish and whale sharks.

Cancun has spectacular white sandy beaches and luxury resorts, while the colourful reefs are perfect for diving and snorkeling. Adventure lovers will enjoy exploring the Mayan ruins, and gourmands will have the chance to taste the unique flavours of Mayan-influenced Mexican cuisine at fabulous beachfront restaurants designed to maximise your romantic dining experience.

Cancun’s key attractions are limestone cenotes filled with freshwater, Isla Contoy which teems with wildlife settled in mangroves, lagoons, corals and sandy beaches, as well as Garrafon National Park which is perfect for kayaking, snorkelling and helmet diving. If you want to enjoy sun and fun at the hippest beach in the Caribbean, head south of Cancun to Riviera Maya which is home to the famous Playa del Carmen.
