The Langkawi archipelago is comprised of 99 beautiful islands in the Andaman Sea with only four of them being inhabited. The majority of the population lives on Palau Langkawi which is the biggest island and features the best resorts, spas, restaurants and shops with duty free goods. You can visit Langkawi literally any time of the year as it is blessed with warm weather, while the mountains of Peninsular Malaysia shelter it from the north-eastern monsoon that lasts from November to January. You may experience a brief tropical downpour if you are planning your honeymoon during September or October.

Your romantic honeymoon on Langkawi should include a dinner cruise on a luxury catamaran, a trip to the top of the Gunung Mat Cincang mountain, that boasts stunning views of the entire archipelago and spending a day at one of the secluded islets. If you want to explore the  colourful marine life, you can go diving and snorkelling, or even visit the famed Underwater World, the biggest aquarium in South East Asia that is spread across nearly six acres and has more than 5000 species of sea creatures and animals. You can also try a glass bottom boat which gives you a wonderful view from above or book a guided tour to see Pulau Payar marine park teeming with vibrant tropical fish and corals, barracuda and reef sharks.

Great shopping is one of Langkawi's main assets as all goods are duty free and you can find anything from fashion and souvenires to chocolate and perfumes. You can also find amazing luxury spas set amidst the tropical forest, or conveniently located on the beach so that you can enjoy a relaxing massage surrounded by stunning natural beauties.

Couples who want to discover all that this tropical paradise has to offer should visit some of the local villages and find out all about traditional Malay island life. The beautiful nature of Palau Langkawi can also be explored by car, motorbike or bicycle, and you can also go hiking and follow forest trails set around beautiful waterfalls and mountain peaks.
