About us

While hair stylist Mat Johnson and his team at MJ by Mat Johnson are known for high-end styling in every facet of the hair and beauty industry, bridal hair is their specialty. The team is led by internationally-acclaimed stylist Mat Johnson (MJ), who is a respected educator and global ambassador for leading haircare company, MATRIX. When he's not giving a workshop to thousands of his peers, Mat loves to spend his days preparing and executing bridal looks that make his clients' dreams come true.

MJ is known for his full-day service where he comes to your home or hotel room to do hair for the bridal party, as well as one last touch-up as the bride gets out of the car to walk down the aisle. MJ also follows the bridal party while photos are happening to ensure everyone is captured looking their best and finally, one touch-up before the reception. Alternatively, MJ can host the bridal party in his beautiful boutique salon in Norwood.

There is no destination too far for MJ, travelling locally, nationally and internationally to ensure that he is right by his client's side on her big day.
