The Pantone® colour for 2013 was Emerald Green – so our emerald, black and white colour palette is absolutely right up to the minute and lends a dash of pure drama to our theme.
Our strategically placed large beveled mirror captures all the light and glamour of the room, reflecting it back with a wonderful warmth and sparkle. The black tablecloth created the strong backdrop necessary for all the other elements we had chosen to blend together with effortless elegance.
A perfect match for the black cloth, our divine black cube bomboniere boxes are tied with three rows of emerald ribbon and three rows of black and white ticked ribbon, beautifully incorporating all the colours in our palette.
For our stunning glassware we opted for cut crystal goblets and highball glasses patterned with dramatic diamond and wedge cuts that refracted light with a glittering radiance.
Coupled with this gorgeous and intricately detailed emerald green vase, the combined effect is a vibrant colour statement that really pops against the black detailing.
Make no mistake: if you successfully recreate our stylish summer theme you will dazzle your guests. And key to that success is a willingness to pay attention to detail, because while the overall look is lavish, closer inspection reveals that it is elegantly understated and very carefully crafted. Near and dear to all our hearts was this stunning natural emerald ring. The square cut stone is set in 18ct white gold and flanked on every side by sparkling diamonds.
And we were absolutely delighted with our square black and white two-tiered cake, complete with its rich emerald ribbon trim. The flowers we chose for the cake topper accented those that had been gloriously combined to create our bouquet, buttonhole and table arrangements, and included white akito roses, white hellebores, white tulips, ivory poppies, white sweet peas, green hypericum berries and fragrant white freesias. Just exquisite!
Elegant glassware is a feature of our summer styling story, and we just adore these emerald Clarendon flutes and martini glasses. This enchanting design is characterized by dramatic cuts, creating stunning crystal with an unsurpassed shine and brilliance, and accented with a truly gorgeous rich emerald hue. To complete the glittering picture, we couldn’t resist the addition of a beautiful cut crystal decanter. This glassware says it all.
We chose tableware to complement our black and white striped styling. This exquisite bone china features clean, modern black and white stripes, complemented by an elegant platinum band. And because we adored its elegant simplicity.
A fun idea your guests will love is a drinks bar with alcohol chosen to complement your colour palette. As our hero colour was emerald, we purchased vodka, absinthe, gin and madori, and added stunning cut-crystal emerald martini glasses for a distinctive touch of style. While on the subject of our colour palette, notice that we added a pair of black crystal cut vases to our table, and that our delightful white and green bouquet is bound with green ribbon and has green pin detailing.
The entrancing glamour of a glittering chandelier adds a sense of occasion to any event. They are easy to hire and as you can see from our photo spread, the effect is sensational. We placed ours to complement our gorgeous mirror – and it brought the room to shimmering life. And finally, after all your hard work has resulted in a breathtaking reception room you’ll want memories to treasure. So ensure that your photographer takes plenty of photos of all of your styling details.
