Styled Shoot: Winter Banquet

With its bare branches, crisp days and grey skies, winter is the coldest time of the year. But don’t think that your winter wedding banquet needs to be devoid of colour and warmth. This is the time for you to indulge your senses with the rich colours and textures that this season evokes.

We started by covering our table with a cloth of just the right hue to complement our stunning panelled wall. Bentwood chairs reminded us of winter’s leafless tree branches, while the geometric patterns of the glittering Duchess Crystal glassware range by Vera Wang added undeniable elegance and sophistication to our setting.

For our dinnerware we opted for the classic beauty of Vera Wang’s stylish Vera Lace design, and our Grosgrain cutlery, also by Vera Wang, completes our setting. Candles add unforgettable atmosphere, so we selected some simple yet elegant silver candle holders and opted for plain, tall white tapers. Finally, we found these gorgeous cut glass perfume bottles for our bomboniere (your female guests would love them) and they certainly added exactly the right touch to our table setting.

To complete our winter wedding banquet table we created a floral centre-piece that would celebrate winter in all its splendour. It exudes a selection of pink David Austen roses, magnolia branches, purple hebe, waxed apples, red roses, frilly magenta tulips, celosia, calla lilies, privet berry, photinia, artichokes, hawthorne washington berries and sprayed pine cones to create this sensational display of winter’s richest bounty.

Winter’s tapestry will surprise and delight you. Opt for warm colours, crystal glassware and the beauty of candlelight and you will create a banquet table to delight your guests. We just love our bridal bouquet. Its lush colours and beautiful textures are a delight to behold. Bound with a satin ribbon, this bouquet has been given a wonderfully romantic touch with the addition of a beautiful locket.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to incorporate either your ‘something borrowed’ or ‘something old’ into your wedding day attire. Consider using a special trinket as a pretty decoration on your bouquet – it will look beautiful. We also particularly like the delightful colour balance between the calla lilly and berry buttonholes.

Be sure to take special care with the choice of fonts for your wedding stationery. The font you pick can go a long way to creating your wedding day style, as you can see from the way our menu combines with the delicate pattern of our plateware. And, for an elegant theme such as this, you will want your stationery to echo the formality of this special and regal occasion.
