Their love story begins when a mutual friend, Kate introduced Alex and Mark at the age of seventeen. On that night, they shared a kiss on the dance-floor of a night club in South Yarra, which began their eleven year romance leading to their wedding day.
For their proposal Mark prepared a surprise trip to Los Angeles for their ten-year anniversary. Mark arranged the two-week holiday to perfection, even organising Alex’s annual leave with her boss! Previously, in 2008, they had travelled to the United States and loved Santa Monica Beach which was one of their favourite spots. Here, Mark proposed! Afterwards, they went straight to Chateau Mormont to celebrate and spent an incredibly happy afternoon celebrity spotting, enjoying a delicious lunch, drinking lots of bubbles and calling their family and friends to share in the excitement of their engagement.
The theme was unique and creative! Both Alex and Mark knew that they wanted to move away from convention and break all of the rules. They wanted their guests to feel like they had never experienced anything like it before.
Style Inspiration came when they wanted to include bold primary colours, and no whites and greens in isolation, to inform their palette. Their most important requirement was that their wedding would ‘feel’ happy and uplifting and infused with the best quality products, presented in an understated, stylish way. To bring their unique vision to life they turned to Tori Allen Events, led by Director Tori Wood, one of Melbourne’s leading event agencies. Tori specialises in floral design, event design and event management with a commitment to creativity, innovation and communication. Georgia, from Tori Allen Events brought Alex and Mark’s vision to life and helped create the exciting event that was their unique wedding celebration.
Unique styling included gorgeous floral prints that featured on their stationery, the columns at the reception, tablecloths, napkins, and on their wedding cake. This was complemented with stunning floral styling in the bouquets, boutonnières, floral installations, table centrepieces and vases.

Remember that it is a celebration of the two of you, but also a time to thank your friends and loved ones for the special times they have spent with you and the support they have provided to you both, so keep things personal.
Alex and Mark were married and celebrated their reception at The Deck, Circa. Alex wore a stunning gown by Leah Da Gloria, while the bridesmaids wore dresses by Lover. Mark and his groomsmen wore stylish suits by MJ Bale. Celebrant Jo Betz officiated at the ceremony in front of a beautiful flower-adorned arch. Alex and Mark had been together for so long that they wanted to thank and celebrate their special day with the family and friends who had supported them for so long, and that’s exactly what they did. They loved having their ceremony at 4:30 pm and then kicking straight into their night of celebration.
The celebrations began after their ceremony on the deck where they transitioned into a cocktail party, followed by dinner and dancing. The relaxed and easy vibe created just the right ambience that their guests enjoyed. As dedicated ‘foodies’ the amazing cuisine at Circa drove their decision to select the venue in the first place, and they were delighted with the cocktails, beverages and food created by the talented Circa team. They partied well into the night, and agreed that it was the best day of their lives. It was a bright, happy and joyful celebration and really was ‘one big party’ with their favourite people!
