How They Met
Brooke and Adam met at Hopscotch in Canberra three years ago. They went for drinks with friends after work – it was November and everyone was already into the Christmas spirit and the place was crowded. Adam was at the bar and started talking to Brooke and one of her friends. They spent the rest of the night talking and finally arranged to meet up for a dinner date. They have been inseparable ever since.
Adam surprised Brooke when she obtained her degree at University. He had arranged a romantic hot air balloon ride to celebrate and it was the perfect cover as she didn’t suspect a thing. They got up early in the morning and while she was busy getting ready, he was in the living room waiting for her. When she was finally ready to go, he asked her to go out onto their back deck. As soon as she walked outside, he was down on his knee and he asked her to marry him. After the balloon ride, he took her to the Hyatt Hotel for a champagne breakfast and then all the way to Mollymook to stay at Banisters. “It was amazing”, said Brooke, “I was spoiled rotten and it is something I will remember forever”.
The Bridal Gown
Brooke wore a wedding dress by Wendy Makin which featured a sweetheart neckline, lace overlay and a beautifully slim fit-and-flare silhouette. “It was the third dress I tried on and I made my decision right away”, she said, “I felt like it was made for me”.
The Bridal Accessories
She styled her pretty dress with a jewelled hairpiece which she purchased at Annabel’s Bridal Studio in Kingston. It perfectly complemented her cathedral veil crafted from delicate soft tulle. The shoes by Wittner were simple and elegant, chosen to match the dress and her bridal bouquet.
The Bridesmaid Dresses
Brooke wanted her girls to have different necklines and she found the perfect gown at Brides of Sydney: a multiway dress in a subtle nude shade. “The girls loved the dresses because they looked amazing but they were also very comfortable”, she said.
The groom and his groomsmen were dressed in beautiful grey suits tailored at Black Tie By Xavier. Brooke’s father also wore a suit made in the same store.
The Ceremony Venue
The couple opted for an outdoor wedding in a beautiful mountain setting. They tied the knot at the historic Bullocks Hut which is one of the most picturesque spots in Kosciuszko National Park. They had a simple arbour decorated with flowers and tulle, and the natural backdrop was simply breath-taking. Guests enjoying walking around the park, listening to the water running in the river and sipping champagne while soaking up the mountain views.
The Reception Styling
The wedding reception was held at the Cuisine Restaurant at Lake Crackenback Resort and it was the perfect venue for their elegant, rustic-style celebration. Brooke and Adam did a lot of decorating themselves. They had gorgeous tea lights on the ledges which boarded the restaurant, white tulips on the tables and little wooden blocks which held the name tags and were made by the father of the bride. Their wedding cake was a rustic, semi-naked tiered cake by Whisk & Cocoa which featured floral decorations and a cute wooden topper saying “Mr & Mrs”.
