Real Wedding: Laura & Josh’s Romantic Beachfront Wedding In Wollongong

The couple wanted to create an enchanted garden feel at the outdoor deck of the Novotel North Beach and they hosted both their ceremony and reception outside.

How They Met
Laura and Josh both lived in Wollongong and kept running into each other. He had a crush on her and admitted it to her best friend. After that, they started chatting through Facebook which led to their first date. They instantly clicked!

The Proposal
They went bush walking one morning and suddenly got very lost. He started panicking even though he is usually very calm and it was Laura’s first clue. When they finally found a clearing to set up a picnic, he went down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

The Location
They decided to host their wedding at Novotel North Beach in Wollongong which boasts a spacious outdoor deck that overlooks the ocean. In addition to the breath-taking views, this venue also offered protection against wet weather.

The Wedding Theme
The couple wanted to create the enchanted garden feel which is why they adorned the deck with lots of flowers and greenery. The colour palette comprised greens, neutrals and splashes of pink and lilac.

The Styling
The team at She Designs styled their venue. They listened to all of their thoughts and questions and eventually came up with a stunning design and really nailed how the couple wanted their wedding to look and feel. “It was simple, elegant and enchanting”, said the bride.

The Bride’s Attire
Laura wore a two-in-one wedding gown by Watters which she purchased at Cheboom. It featured a princess-style tulle overskirt which was ideal for the ceremony and underneath was a gorgeous fitted dress with a low back.

The Photography
The couple noticed Red Berry Photography on instagram and they loved that the their images had such a natural element to them. They knew they had to photograph their wedding day, "someone that could capture those special 'moments' when you think no one is watching. He did exactly that. Our faces light up everytime we see a photo from our big day." the couple said.

Find a quiet place to sit & enjoy five minutes together. The day starts off slow, but then it’s full steam ahead. Stop for a moment & really embrace each other. If nothing else goes to plan make sure this happens.
