How They Met
Tayla’s brother and Ryan’s sister went to primary school together and their families have known each other before they were even born. Their mothers remember being pregnant at the same time, and they even went on a family holiday together when the kids were 8 years old. They reunited at Tayla’s best friend’s18th birthday and on the very next day they went on their first date.
Ryan decided to propose to Tayla a couple of weeks before their 8 year anniversary. Tayla arrived to Ryan's house and didn’t expect to find him standing at the top of the stairs with a little Tiffany & Co. box in his hands. He had hung a string of pictures on the walls, displaying the most beautiful memories from their childhood days and relationship.
Tayla and Ryan wanted to escape from the city and found the perfect wedding venue on the NSW South Coast. Jaspers Berry was everything they hoped for when they started envisaging their garden wedding. Their celebration kicked off with wedding ceremony and cocktails in the garden and then continued with a sit-down reception at the beautiful Orangery.
Since their wedding venue already looked gorgeous with white timber panelled walls and antique lanterns they didn’t need to hire too many decorations. Their personal touch were bohemian details like peacock chairs, greenery garlands, wooden signage and hand-made dream catchers.
Tayla’s wedding gown exuded boho elegance as well and looked stunning in wedding photos by The Evoke Company. She purchased a lace dress by WTOO which featured a scalloped lace detailing and a low back with mesh detail and the trail of buttons. The special details were a 100-year-old gold anvil that all of the ladies in Ryan’s family have worn on their wedding day which was pinned inside the dress, and the bracelet by Samantha Wills was “something borrowed” from her sister in law. Tayla’s earrings were from Colette Hayman Accessories and all of the bridesmaids wore matching earrings, while her heels were from Betts Shoes, but were replaced with a pair of comfortable flats towards the end of the night.
Their wedding venue Jaspers Berry did all of the on-site florals and space looked stunning. They filled the room with lush blooms and lots of greenery and created unique decorations such as the garland to line the bridal table and wall vases. The wedding bouquets, buttonholes and flower crowns were made by Clementine Posy. Tayla was especially happy with their peonies in fuchsia, pale pink and white as they had chosen a wedding date around them.
The couple wanted a unique Bomboniere instead of the classic chocolates or mini bottles of alcohol. They purchased marble hexagon coasters and had their guests’ names in gold calligraphy. They looked gorgeous on the tables and doubled as place cards.
The live band Paper Hearts was in charge of entertaining the crowd at their wedding. They had a duo playing at the ceremony and during the cocktail hour, and then they were joined by two other musicians to create a four-piece band for the reception. They played a great selection of songs and the dance floor was full all night.
- From the Bride
Take a moment for the two of you to sit back and just watch the day from afar and take everything in – the florals, the smiles, the music. It’s so easy to get lost in the moment and forget to take a second to appreciate the day and all of your family and friends.
