How They Met
Wendy and Brian’s love story started as a beautiful friendship. They met as teenagers at the end of high school and remained friends. They slowly became best friends, watching each other grow and witnessing each other’s heartaches as well as celebrations. They even travelled the world together and eventually their friendship started to have elements of platonic love.
Two years ago, they realised they were actually in love. Brian had planned the perfect proposal. He tricked Wendy into visiting a strawberry and tomato picking farm. She always loved eating tomatoes, and it became a theme of the proposal. She walked into a majestic backdrop of red and green vines to find a guitarist playing their song, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” and saw Brian down on one knee.
The bride wore a Marchesa gown, it was a strapless ballgown with 3D applique flowers and for the reception she wore a Leah Da Gloria sequinned gatsby styled gown with tulle train
Their wedding was a glamorous Gatsby-inspired affair with lots of confetti, fun and dancing. The colour palette was very sophisticated with tones of blush pink and vintage gold on a crisp white background. The ‘vintage art deco’ theme had a few unique elements such as gold geometric frames used as a ceremony backdrop, a huge balloon installation at the pre-dinner cocktail area, elevated floral centrepieces on the tables, an impressive 8-tier wedding cake and fireworks synced to a music track which went off at the climax of the night.
She Design styled the entire event with the florals of Anthomania Floristry. Pre-drinks reception area included a giant white balloon installation, neon signs and over 30 Gold chandeliers strewn throughout the roof of the marquee that was supplied and site managed by Pillingers Hiring Service Pty Ltd. A gold custom bar made by She Design was another gorgeous feature of the pre reception area. Gold cages sat on top of each guest table with cascading florals and candelabras decorated the main bridal table.
They hosted their ceremony and reception at Rocky Point Island in Balmoral, and they did all the planning themselves.
Pillingers Hiring Service Pty Ltd site managed and supervised the construction of a clear roof marquee structure with parquetry flooring. By Pillingers supplying a fully functional reception room the theme of the day was captivating and enjoyed by all.
Anthomania Floristry decorated the whole event with shades of pinks, whites and accents of red and also made the bouquets and Orchids were a main feature in most of the florals.
Their wedding transport included a vintage Rolls Royce and two sedans. The couple found Roll Up in a Rolls were a superb service, a calming, friendly and positive influence throughout the day and provided drinks and food for the breaks during the day as well.
Mini bottles of Moët Champagne were given away as bomboniere.
