How They Met
The couple met over 12 years ago at an SA Golf dinner. Brooke’s younger brother played golf with Christopher, and her mum kept hinting that there was a very handsome golfer she should meet. “I just had to come to this dinner to see him”, Brooke admitted. After that night they began talking, but they didn’t have their first date until a few years later.
Christopher proposed after Brooke got home from an interstate trip. “I had been gone for nearly two weeks, and when I arrived home the house looked like a bomb had hit it”, she said. As she was tired, she lost her temper and went up to the bedroom, but Christopher followed her. He searched the bedroom high and low until he finally found the ring box folded in his socks and asked Brooke to marry him.
The Wedding Theme
The couple wed at Adelaide Town Hall then celebrated at the Playford Hotel. So to match their venues Brooke and Christopher opted for a classic wedding theme with cream, ivory, nude and gold tones included in their colour palette. They were inspired by simple and timeless designs, but also included some innovative elements such as a suspended wedding cake and an open photo booth.
The Bride's Gown
Brooke wore a one-of-a-kind wedding gown which was designed by her and handmade by her mother. It was a gorgeous princess-style dress with a sweetheart bodice and a low back. It was crafted from ivory raw silk which she styled with handmade accessories by Veronique Boutique.
The Bridesmaids' Dresses
Brooke’s bridesmaids wore nude dresses handmade by her mother and embellished with Swarovski crystals.
The Cake & Dessert Table
Brooke and Christopher had a 2 tier suspened wedding cake by sugar and spice cakes. It had a heart shaped white willow branches surrounding it. The couple also had a 3m dessert buffet which included mini cakes, cake pops, Lemon Slice, donuts, cookies, chocolate keys, macarons. The table was extremly popular and there were no sweets left at the end of the night.
Decorations & Party Hire
The couple absolutely loved their reception, they had all 3 of the ballrooms at The Playford. Not only did they have the cake suspended but they also had four very large hanging gardens suspended from the ceiling. In the middle ballroom was a large dancefloor and a stage for the band. The guests sat on gold chivari chairs with silk chiffon ties and the centrpieces were small bouquets of flowers. In the first ballroom was the sweet table and in the third ballroom was an open photobooth which consisted of chaise lounges and arm chairs.
