Real Wedding: Keely & James' City Garden Party

Keely & James hosted a garden reception at the Grounds of Alexandria and opted for a simple colour palette of white, cream and green.

How They Met

James discovered a small coffee shop where Keely was working, and he continued to
go there each weekend and pretended he loved their coffee for months. They finally met out one night and the rest, as they say, is history.

The Proposal

James proposed at Jonah’s at Whale Beach. After lunch, the staff asked if they would like to have dessert overlooking the beach. Keely wasn’t suspecting anything while gazing out towards the horizon. When she turned around, James was on one knee with a gorgeous ring in his hand and a tear in his eye. Keely and James had slightly different mornings on the day of the wedding.

The Morning Of The Wedding

Keely’s bridal party arrived at her parent’s home to get ready while James and his groomsmen started the morning with a swim and breakfast at Bondi.

The Ceremony

Keely and James had a beautiful church ceremony at the Dalton Chapel at Saint Ignatius College where James attend school from year 5 onwards.

The Dress

Keely wore a Daalarna Couture gown featuring a modern silhouette from Hope and Page boutique. She saw the dress on Instagram and it was the first dress she fell inlove with.

The Reception

Their reception was held at the stunning garden at The Grounds of Alexandria and the colour palette for their rustic wedding theme included white, cream and green. The venue looked magical at night with strings of fairy lights amongst the greenery.

The Flowers

The Grounds Florals by Silva created the flowers which included white roses, hypericum berry, veronicas and seasonal blooms. Ivy, asparagus fern and sea holly were trailed down the centre of the tables, accompanied by cut crystal vases filled with white and green blossoms.

The Entertainment

The White Tree Band's brief was to make sure everyone had fun and everyone was on the dance floor for the majority of the night from young cousins to grandparents and the couple said they did exactly that!

Plan as much as you can early so that you can enjoy the lead up to the day and most importantly the wedding day itself. When things don’t go to plan; don’t worry about it and just have fun! It is the imperfections that make life perfect.
