NSW Wedding Of The Year 2017: Christine & Paul

The couple had an outdoor ceremony in front of the Sydney Opera House in a luxe bohemian ceremony setting with rustic linens, whitewash chairs for the guests, a cane peacock signing chair and creamy florals.

The Proposal

Christine and Paul met through Paul’s best friend, since high school, who is engaged to Christine’s sister. They decided to buy a piece of land and build their “forever home”. The very first weekend they had received the keys to their new home, Paul proposed to Christine in their empty lounge room adorned with tea lights. “It was such a surreal, and emotional moment, of course, I said yes,” said Christine

The Wedding Dress

Christine looked gorgeous in her Vera Wang ‘Ethel’ gown which she accessorised with pink pearl drop earrings from Tiffany & Co. and shoes by Charlotte Olympia.

The Grooms Suit

Paul decided to wear a classic tuxedo with a shawl collar by Calvin Klein and paired it with patent leather Hugo Boss loafers and a beautiful classic velvet bow tie by Le Noeud Papillon.

The Theme

Christine and Paul wanted a very rustic theme in a modern setting. They envisioned the space filled with fresh florals, creating an intimate garden feel with fresh scents of blooms filling the room and raw materials such as silks, hessian with wood trestle tables to finish off the rustic luxe feel.

Special Detail

Two Sweet Figs made a gorgeous custom cake swing for the couple's cake and a friend of the bride and grooms made a custom LED marquee cake topper for the couple.

The Reception

The reception at Opera Point Marquee featured shell chandelier trestle tables, whitewash charger plates and hessian runners on the tables. There was also white lattice behind the bridal table backdrop with hessian and lace bunting

The Photographer

"Hilary Cam Photography captured the day perfectly, with both bride and groom preparations, ceremony, location shoot in the Botanic Gardens, reception and also a photo booth for the reception. The photographs turned out absolutely amazing, and it was so nice to relive the day when we looked at the photos for the first time. " Christine and Paul

We wanted a rustic theme in a modern setting filled with flowers to create an intimate, garden feel. With the fresh scents of our blooms filling the room, and raw materials such as silks, hessian, and wood trestle tables to complete the rustic luxe feel.
