James proposed to Jessica on the 27th of May, 2014 at the Vivid Festival in Sydney. James was worried about there being so many people around and so was Jessica! She intially said ‘no’, but only meant that he didn’t need to go down on one knee in front of everyone and cause a big scene. Quickly after this she replied happily with a ‘yes’! Their vision of a marriage is making a commitment to the person you love the most, but also the privilege of having someone to drink beer with or share the housework and someone to always have on your side. The couple were engaged for 15 months before they decided to host their wedding
at the beautiful Bendooley Estate which was the second venue they visited and immediately fell in love with.
A navy and white colour palette combined with classic elegance and rustic styling,
was the perfect theme for their countryside wedding venue. The couple opted for an outdoor ceremony on the lawn with vintage-style wooden doors and an elborate flower arbour in the background.
We loved how tranquil the countryside was, and the book barn is so unique and elegant.
Jessica’s lace wedding dress from Bridal Reflections’ salon in Sydney was the first dress she tried on! She immediately knew it was ‘the one’ because it matched her grandmother’s veil pefectly.
Their countryside wedding had a vintage feel. The old books in the barn added a sophisticated touch, so they used them for the table centrepieces.
The fireplaces were a perfect addition to their winter wedding, and DIY details included handmade wedding invitations, menus and seating plan. Table decorations were also created at home, and they reflected the style of their venue which featured wooden furnishings and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Their favourite moments of the day were walking down the aisle and giving speeches, and rowing out to the island in a boat was also special.
