Real Wedding: Kylie & Andrew's Rainforest Romance

This unique wedding theme combines romance and rustic charm through elegant red and white colour palette enriched with warm hues of gold and brown.

Kylie and Andrew met each other at the Brisbane Caxton St Seafood Festival, and they return there every year, even if the army posts them in different states. The proposal was fun and romantic. Andrew decided to pop the question on his birthday, during their housing party in their new home in Brisbane. All of their friends and family were there to celebrate their engagement with them! Having travelled across Australia with Defence, he wanted to make that day special for Kylie, and she felt loved and spoilt. Their wedding took place in the beautiful O’Reilly’s retreat located in the Gold Coast hinterland and is a  special place to both to them and their families, and the views were simply unforgettable.

Inspired by rainforest, love, family and friends, the couple created a stunning wedding theme with unique details such as candles lit for their fathers. They had white chairs, red carpet and flower petals scattered around the aisle. Two colours created a visually stunning contrast, and looked amazing against the lush green rainforest backdrop.

The playful combination of white and bright red also featured on the dresses. While the bride wore a stunning white wedding gown with lace appliqués and had a red bouquet, her bridesmaids had red dresses and white posies. Kylie accessorised her dress with her father’s ring to add “something old”, beautiful jewellery from Lovisa and bespoke bridal shoes she designed herself that featured the words “I do” written with diamantes on the soles.

Shades of gold and brown added warmth to the wedding venue with Tiffany chairs and tableware in rustic gold and chocolate hues. Centrepieces were made from red roses which perfectly complemented the table settings and added ambience to the venue, while the selection of family photos added personal touch and a hint of nostalgia to the whole design. Cute hearts with bride’s and groom’s initials on them packed in glass jars was the ideal bonbonniere, while the three-tiered cake decorated with white icing, red ribbons, rose blooms and a cute topper was truly spectacular!
