Real Wedding: Anna & Murray's Intimate & Rustic Victorian Wedding

Founder and Creative Director, Anna Campbell, has married her long-term partner and best friend, Murray Thompson, in a romantic and rustic ceremony at historic Andersons Mill in Smeaton, Victoria. And the best part: Anna wore not 1, but 4 dresses! Each one equally amazing as the next!

The pair ensured the day was a true celebration of their love and style, incorporating as many personalised touches as possible, from the DIY cocktail menu and floral styling to the design and creation of the bride's four custom Anna Campbell gowns. Each of Anna’s gowns were created using luxury silks and lace fabrics, finished with the exquisite hand beading Anna Campbell is renowned for.

While four dresses might seem like a lot, for me one was just not enough! The day is made up of so many different moments, I wanted to ensure I had the perfect dress, with just the right amount of lace or sparkle, for each part of the day.

"My first dress was worn to our first look at Lavandula, a beautiful Swiss Lavender farm, with sweeping lavender fields. I wanted a free-moving dress that flowed beautifully, but that was still sparkly and special enough to be the first dress Murray saw me in", said Anna. And it was divine! The gorgeous dress featured a spectacular one shoulder embellished design.

"Walking down the aisle was the moment I had always dreamt of, and I wanted to be wearing something truly incredible and sparkly, so I created my ceremony dress with thousands of shimmering beads. Knowing how the dress would sparkle under the vintage lights of the barn, I couldn’t resist being embellished head to to", said Anna.

“My third dress, worn upon arrival at the reception and for our sunset photos, was very fitted and intricately beaded, with gorgeous off the shoulder tulle sleeves. Although I was nervous to wear the fitted, mermaid shape, it created the most incredible silhouette, and it ended up being my and Murray’s favourite", said Anna.

“The final dress was always designed to be my party dress! It was very simple, made of a soft Japanese lace, with an embellished belt detail. It was so much lighter than all of the other dresses and so fun to dance in!”, said Anna. We adore the bride's headpiece which added a special touch to the final look!

Teaming up with a collection of hand-picked, Melbourne-based suppliers, including videographers C2 Films, makeup artist Melanie Santos and boutique bakery Sweet Empire, Ms Campbell created a unique and truly memorable celebration – one that is set to provide a source of inspiration for future Anna Campbell collections.

I wish I could do it all over again! I have finally experienced firsthand the excitement, nerves and pure happiness that all of our brides experience! It really is the most special day of your life.

Their wedding was really a huge celebration of how much they love each other. "I just feel like we had the best party of our lives and have the most incredible memories, photos, and video to prove it!”, said Anna.

Anna Campbell is excited to announce that a new collection, inspired by each of her four custom gowns and the feelings of joy and excitement experienced by walking down the aisle, is currently underway and will be available to Anna Campbell brides-to-be later in 2016. Stay tuned!
