Real Wedding: Jessica & Matthew's Glamorous Sydney Wedding

Couple’s wedding reception was a truly glamorous affair in a glitzy ballroom space with crystal chandeliers, opulent floral arrangements and details in gunmetal grey and pink.

Jessica and Matthew’s love story began at Brighton Le Sands beach on a hot summer day when they were introduced through a mutual friend. He was playing soccer and kept glancing over his shoulder to see her. “He caught me looking at him a few times, so it must have worked”, said Jessica.

Five years later, Matthew proposed on Valentine’s Day. He booked a secluded table overlooking the Harbour Bridge and Opera House at the Balla restaurant at the Star in Sydney and treated Jessica with a spectacular five-course meal. “It felt like the longest and most awkward dinner we ever had as I could tell he was so nervous about something”, said Jessica. When the dessert was served, Matthew went down on one knee and popped the question. Jessica was overwhelmed with the ring and it took her a few seconds to respond. When she finally said yes, the entire restaurant applauded!

They tied the knot in the Macedonian Orthodox Church Kiril & Metodi and then celebrated their nuptials at the beautiful Albert Palais in Sydney. Their wedding reception was a truly glamorous affair in a glitzy ballroom space built in 1934 and decorated with eleven opulent chandeliers and sparkly backdrop created from Swarovski crystals. Gunmetal grey and pink colour palette was the perfect match for this gorgeous interior, and the wedding cake in ivory and blue was a stunning four-tiered creation by Cake Art with ruffles on the bottom tier, lace detailing in the middle and a bunch of flowers on top, mimicking the bride’s beautifully styled wedding attire from a tiered skirt to a floral headpiece.

Jessica wore a heavily beaded dress with French lace bodice and frilled skirt designed by Personalised Weddings. She paired it with a custom designed rosary bead bracelet by Tessarella House and Badgley Mischka open toe shoes featuring a satin platform and rhinestone decorations. “When I saw the church doors open and then saw Jess for the first time in her dress it brought a tear to my eye. I had never seen something more beautiful in my life”, said Matthew.
