Experts say you have to be prepared for a bridal expo, so making a good plan will help you get the most out of the event. Make a list of the types of wedding services you are looking for. From reception venues and bridal boutiques to hair, make-up, photography and transport, the selection of wedding vendors will be overwhelming, so focus on things you need. Do your research before the event and browse through the list of exhibitors. Eliminating a number of exhibitors can save you a considerate amount of time, especially if you are aiming for a specific price range.
Bring someone along. If your groom-to-be is not interested in the event, then bring one of your friends or family members who loves weddings and wants to help you select services, taste cake and champagne and generally have a fun day. Think someone you love going shopping with or an ex-bride who has experience with bridal expos. Since many vendors offer discounts if you book that day, you might need a second opinion before you make any decisions.
You will be walking a lot that day, so make sure to pick comfortable footwear. Our second important tip is to bring a big, sturdy bag as you might end up with carrying a lot of things such as magazines, brochures and free goodies. You might get a nice tote bag upon arrival, but it is better to bring your own bag which is proven to be durable. Another thing that might come in handy is cash. You might want to make some purchases that day and some suppliers might not accept card payments. If you have selected your colours/theme then bring along some swatches/pictures so exhibitors know exactly what colour/theme you are after.
Once you get there don’t rush. Use the opportunity to speak to service providers you are interested in. Suppliers are there to talk to you, so ask anything you need to know. Take your time to look at the exhibition as you might find some amazing wedding inspiration. Attending a bridal expo is a fantastic chance to be informed on new wedding trends and amazing wedding styling ideas. You might also want to taste some of the cakes and canapés, watch the entertainment or see a fashion show. And make sure to collect all the brochures and take business cards of all the wedding services you are interested in.
