There is nothing more romantic than a garden wedding, and at the Australian Botanic Garden, you can make it your way because there is a myriad of beautiful locations for outdoor ceremonies, photo shoots and wedding receptions for every budget. You will be surrounded by the awe-inspiring natural setting with abundance of flowers and greenery and celebrate your nuptials in style.
The Australian Botanic Garden is Sydney's most romantic outdoor wedding venue, situated just 45 minutes from the CBD and accessible from all areas of NSW's bustling capital. It boasts at least nine breath-taking ceremony locations, but you can exchange your vows pretty much anywhere on the property, so feel free to find your own favourite spot within 1,000 acres of land.
The most popular locations for wedding ceremonies include the Connections Garden located in the heart of the Australian Botanic Garden, the large setting by the Lake Sedgewick, Jamie Durie's beautiful earth sculpture Room with a View, the spacious Marquee Lawn, the Undercroft at the Australian Plant Bank, the pretty Fruit Loop Garden, the majestic Sundial Hill, the Island at Wattle Garden and the Buffalo Lawn at the Banksia Garden.
The most popular wedding photo backdrops are the Blue Tree, the Eastern Ridge, Lake Sedgewick, the beautiful landscapes of the Sundial Hill and the tropical flora of the Connections Garden.
In addition to these striking outdoor spaces, the Australian Botanic Garden also has three extraordinary indoor venues which are perfect for wedding receptions year round. The silk-lined marquee is the largest one as it can seat up to 500 people and we love it because it is beautifully positioned on the lakeshore. The Bowden Centre is really lavish and it is ideal for small receptions of up to 100 people seated, while the Australian Plant Bank is an impressive flexible space which can seat up to 200 or cater for 400 guests at a cocktail event
