Serving a late night snack at your wedding reception is a relatively new trend and we love it! When the party is over, everybody is usually at least a little peckish, and we are sure your guests will be thrilled if you surprise them with a delicious bite at the end of the reception. Some of your guests will be craving starchy foods, some of them might want something sweet while others will be happy with a lighter, healthier snack. This is why you should ideally have a few options they can choose from. It is best to stick to bite-size food as you want something simple and easy to eat as your guests leave. You can ask your caterer to prepare something scrumptious to serve in the final hours of your wedding reception, or simply give your guests an edible bomboniere which they can nibble on their way home.
Delicious savoury snacks are ideal if you want your wedding reception to last until late all night long. Sliders with fries are one of the most popular options, but you can also serve bite-sized sandwiches, mini pizzas, hot dogs or fish and chips. If you want something a little different, then opt for cheese on toast fingers with a delicious salsa dip, miniature mac and cheese served in small ramekins, or a selection of cheeses, fruits, and dips. If you need a simple and quick solution, then tortilla crisps with guacamole or salted popcorns are ideal.
Old-fashioned milk and cookies are a great sweet snack to serve just before bedtime. Have them delivered to all the guest rooms if your friends and family are staying in a hotel, or wrap them in a little package so they can take them home. You can also serve mini donuts with or offer your guests freshly made pancakes in a variety of flavours, while caramel-flavoured popcorn make the perfect snack on the go.
It is always a good idea to offer your guests a healthier option as well. A selection of delicious roasted nuts served in paper cones makes great healthy snacks they can eat on their way home. Instead of classic crisps serve sweet potato chips with salsa and if you want cheese on toast, make a slightly healthier version with whole grain bread and add some humus on the side. And instead of a standard sweet treat, opt for no-bake brownies or organic raw bars.
