This was the case for Dietitian and Huon Salmon nutrition expert, Lyndi Cohen who shares with us how she toned up and got her glow on in the lead up to her wedding last year.
Healthy fats such as those found in sustainably sourced salmon are so important for good health, toning up and for achieving healthy radiant skin on your wedding day. I tried to have salmon at least three times a week. Full of protein, salmon helped me balance my energy levels throughout the week. Salmon is also rich in Omega-3s and is always my go to as I prefer a sustainable food option rather than too much red meat.
I tried to incorporate probiotics into my food every single day in the lead up to my wedding. I love yoghurt because it’s a fantastic source of probiotics and has loads of calcium too. I tried to be very conscious and include a serving in one of my meals which was usually a smoothie or in my breakfast. Not only did this give my gut an amazing boost but it helped me regulate my food, mood, boost my immunity levels and achieve glowing and healthy skin.
Think chickpeas, beans and lentils. These are so important in your diet because when you’re having lots of probiotics you also need prebiotics to feed them. I tried to include legumes into my meal once a day to increase my energy for my workouts and increase my vitamin intake.
I had a handful of nuts or seeds at least once a day as a snack, but if I miss out, I add them to my salad instead to make sure I get all of the vitamins and nutrients I needed every day.
I had a routine where I would drink a tall glass of water before every meal. It is very easy for the body to get confused and think its hungry when in reality it’s just thirsty. Having that large glass of water before you eat will ensure that you’re not eating when you’re just thirsty.
