While some of the headpieces at Met Gala 2015, such as Sarah Jessica Parker’s red hat by Philip Treacy looked very extravagant, there were also plenty of great ideas for wedding headpieces and bridal jewellery on the red carpet. Many celebrities wore flowers in their hair, and we think Selena Gomez’s white orchid adornment makes a wonderful wedding headpiece and is a perfect accessory to complement that white Vera Wang gown she picked for this occasion.
Chrissy Teigen also accessorised her hairstyle with flowers at the Met Gala 2015, and we loved how this lovely wedding headpiece matched the colour of her lipstick and enhanced her black sequinned St. John gown. She also wore a Judith Leiber Couture bag and gorgeous white and green Fred Leighton earrings, which we think, make an exquisite piece of bridal jewellery.
Kate Hudson paired her metallic Michael Kors gown with a stunning floral hair accessory in silver and gold tones, which was definitely one of the prettiest wedding headpieces we spotted at the Met Gala 2015.
Georgia May Jagger opted for teal coloured florals to accessorise her kimono-style Gucci gown, and we loved it because it makes such a cute ‘something blue’ wedding headpiece!
However, if you want to add a splash of colour to your wedding day outfit with amazing jewellery, those sapphire and emerald Piaget earrings Gong Li wore with a burgundy Roberto Cavalli dress are just fabulous.
We also loved the Anna Hu sapphire earrings, which Emily Blunt paired with an embellished regal in a classic Oriental-style Prada gown.
Models Sasha Pivovarova and Anna Evers both arrived at the Met Gala 2015 in custom-made Balenciaga dresses and gave us more bridal jewellery and wedding hair inspiration. While Sasha styled her gown with gorgeous pearl earrings, Anna wore a geisha topknot with a stunning wedding headpiece.
For brides-to-be who prefer wearing diamonds on their big day can use Resse Witherspoon’s styling as inspiration. She picked a necklace, bracelet and ring from Tiffany & Co. Masterpieces collection with a gorgeous “Skyscraper” motif.
But it wasn’t just flashy fascinators and jewellery that drew our attention at the Met Gala 2015! Celebrities were also creative with choosing their purses for the red carpet walk. From quirky pieces like Moschino spray paint bag worn by Katy Perry and Rachel Weisz’s glittery Chinese takeaway bag, to Diane Kruger’s heart-shaped crystal-studded Judith Leiber clutch, there were many interesting choices. Our favourite accessory was Lily Aldridge’s bejewelled koi fish clutch also from Judith Leiber which was the perfect match for her Carolina Herrera dress in sky blue.
