Known as the Oscars of the television world, the Emmys is an important annual red carpet event that showcases some of the best evening wear from couture and ready-to-wear collections. This year the stars really dressed to impress! From lavish laces to feather accents and inspirational colours, there were plenty of fresh runway trends, but also some bridal-worthy styes we loved!
One of the most striking black evening gowns seen at Emmys 2017 was the delicate lace piece by Oscar de la Renta which Michelle Pfeiffer picked for her grand entrance. Kate McKinnon and Mandy Moore rocked dresses in black and white – the slinky one with a black top and white skirt by Narcisco Rodriguez and the tiered ball gown by Carolina Herrera, while Lea Michele wore an Elie Saab frock in a deep burgendy which had a slight shimmer and styled it with a belt.
Not all the celebrities opted for dark shades. There was a whole palette of juicy pastel colours which included blues, yellows and blush pinks and a range of dresses in bridal whites or light metallic shades. Angela Sarafyan’s bright yellow gown by Elizabeth Kennedy would make a fabulous bridesmaid dress, while Sofia Vergara’s strapless white frock by Mark Zunino is a gorgeous choice for a bride. One of the red-carpet winners was also Felicity Huffman’s blue lace gown by Tony Ward Couture which could double as a bridesmaid dress or wedding gown.
Other wedding-worthy dresses include the show-stopping sexy and shimmery Ralph & Russo gown which looked fantastic on Jessica Biel, the romantic Miu Miu dress sprinkled with colourful sequins which was Kiernan Shipka’s preferred choice, the strapless pink ball gown by Jason Wu sported by Thandie Newton and the dreamy, sparkly dress by Berta which was worn by Madeline Brewer.
The red carpet beauty looks provide loads of inspo for your wedding day hair and make-up. Nothing quite matches the red carpet like a sultry red lipstick, especially the shade Madeline Brewer picked for the occasion. From the dress to the earrings and the neat pulled back bun, her entire styling was wedding worthy, and we loved the look! Kate McKinnon, Jessica Biel, Angela Sarafyan and Kiernan Shipka sported nude lipstick shades which are also very bridal and Michele Pfeiffer wore gorgeous loose waves. Sofia Vergara’s look was also top notch and definitely bridal as she wore a white gown with bold earrings, sleek up-do and burgundy lipstick.
