Looking for a trendy way to incorporate flowers to your big day? How about wearing them on your wedding dress? This wedding dress trend isn't exactly new because it was Queen Victoria who launched the trend back in the 19th century, but there are certainly many new and quirky ways to rock it.
Featured in bridal white, in subtle, elusive pastel shades or even in the most vibrant of hues, florals have never been more popular! With many brides choosing wear wedding dresses in fresh colours to break away from tradition or to make things a little funkier, there are many multi-coloured dresses in current bridal collections for 2017 and 2018. We have seen prints, embroideries, coloured embellishments and intricate hand-made appliques.
Looking for something cutting-edge and innovative? You will love Viktor & Rolf’s lavish white oversized blossoms that are sewn onto the sleeveless bodice and scattered down the romantic A-line skirt and Marchesa’s strapless dress with big floral lace appliques that look like they are growing out of the delicate fabric!
If you love colourful embroideries, be sure to check out latest collections by Temperley London and Claire Pettibone because these designers are famous for their intricate embroideries. This season Naeem Khan, Lian Rokman and Hayley Paige also explored this bridal trend and created stunning floral gowns, but we found a few fabulous pieces in the Marchesa Resort line which isn’t designed especially for brides, but some of the looks are definitely wedding-worthy!
If you have a more classic and elegant style, then browse through the collections from Mira Zwillinger and Oscar de la Renta. These two collections feature many beautiful floral dresses in bridal whites and ivories, and while most of the dresses draw inspiration from traditional bridal fashion, there are a few very modern twists.
For those brides who love Victorian styles, the latest collection by Galia Lahav will be your go to source of inspiration. Featuring flamboyant dresses with big skirts, high collars, puffy sleeves, corset bodices and of course lots of floral appliques.
And there are, of course, the floral prints! From extraordinary creations by Francesca Miranda to effortless elegance that is the specialty of Houghton NYC, pretty floral patterns printed on silks are another trend we love a lot!
