Spanish Chic: CON ILIO's 2017 Bridal Collection

CON ILIO's latest wedding gowns were inspired by the dramatic architecture, vibrant culture and flamenco theatrics of the Mediterranean.

The Amanda

Hand-made in Melbourne, the wedding dresses exude the spirit of Spain and hence the styles are flamboyant, dramatic, extravagantly tailored and intricately embellished. Creative Director of the brand, Con Iliopulous says that this Spanish flavour really fits into the definition of the CON ILIO bride because she is “strong, seductive and sophisticated” while enjoying her life to the fullest. “I wanted to design a powerful bridal collection that draws clear parallels to the Spanish culture and that collectively feels bold, feminine and romantic, touching both traditional and innovative fashion territories” Con said.

The Ana Sofia

CON ILIO wedding gowns are always impeccably tailored from illustrious bridal fabrics sourced from around the globe. This time the designer used luxurious French laces, Italian brocades, English tulles, extravagant beadwork and lace appliques to create looks that are truly reminiscent of the Spanish bride. Dresses were topped with black or white hats just to add that extra element of drama.

The Bonita

From A-lines and classic ball gowns to sexy fit-and-flares, the dresses have really voluminous silhouettes enhanced by ruffles, Ostrich feathers, oversized embellishments and extra layers. Unique details? The cummerbund waistbands inspired by bullfighters and flamenco dancers! Our favourite looks? Mia, the bohemian lace dress, Lolita, the opulent ball gown with ruffles and feathers and Bonita, the sexy fit-and-flare dress with a pearl-encrusted bodice. The price? These couture wedding gowns start from $6,000. Brides can have a one-on-one appointment with the designer in his south-Melbourne studio. He will customise the dress or even make a fabulous one-off creation especially for your wedding. The studio is located in south-Melbourne and is open for appointments.

The Adriana

The 2017 CON ILIO bridal campaign is simply stunning and involved many local creatives including the brand’s creative director Con Iliopoulos, photographer Liane Hurvitz, Chadwick model Sophie Gray and hair and make-up artist Chantelle Baker.
