Lela Rose Spring 2018

Delicate flower appliques, crystal embroidery, pearls and fur details defined Lela Rose's romantic 2018 spring collection inspired by unconditional love.

From a romantic A-line wedding gown covered in 3D blooms and flower petals to a simple two-piece ensemble comprised of slim trousers and an off-the-shoulder top, the Lela Rose spring 2018 bridal collection included many extraordinary pieces. The bridal show, which took place at the Pavilion in Union Square and in Café Altro Paradiso was a stylish daytime event in a beautiful outdoor setting where the wedding dresses looked stunning under the natural light. The theme of the collection was “Love is Love” and this catchy slogan was featured on a pretty ivory cape embellished with fur. Inspired by this mysterious feeling which is glorified in so many poems, novels, paintings and artworks, the designer opted for soft lines, romantic silhouettes and subtle, ethereal details. Of course, everything was sprinkled with spring florals!

“I think women want to feel like themselves, instead of wearing a dress that’s unlike anything they’ve ever worn before”, said the designer. We loved the simple, subtly embellished column dresses just as much as the dreamy A-line gowns that are dripping with flowers and chic headdresses with short veils attached to them. Most of the looks are perfect for laid-back daytime weddings, but some of the gowns are ideal for an evening soiree and the cape will keep you warm when temperatures drop.

Illusion detailing was exceptional and it appeared on many of the dresses. Long, translucent bridal gloves beautifully adorned with floral appliques complemented the dresses as each pair was designed to match the embellishments on the gown. We loved this idea! Unique details also included pearl embroidery, stylish white chokers and cute fur collars that are covered the shoulders.

This collection will appeal to those vintage-loving brides-to-be because there are so many gorgeous retro elements such as subtle V-necks, intricate pearl beadwork, slightly flared skirts and the headwear.
