Zuhair Murad Spring 2018 Bridal

From striking princess-style gowns to sheer lace dresses and jumpsuits with voluminous tulle overlays, Zuhair Murad’s new collection is undeniably glamorous and a little bit daring.

Zuhair Murad wedding gowns are luxurious and over-the-top just like his red carpet creations, and each season he surprises us with something new and unexpected. This time it was a translucent wedding jumpsuit made of elaborate lace and styled with a huge removable tulle skirt. You have to be very confident to wear this creation on your wedding day, but we are sure there are some brave brides out there who would be happy to try it on and rock it at the ceremony.

Another mind-blowing piece from the Zuhair Murad spring 2018 collection was a daringly sheer, strapless sheath dress which was paired with an embroidered veil and a removable A-line overlay which had a slight opening at the front to reveal the ethereal, barely-there material underneath. Sexy, transparent wedding dresses were also worn with embellished illusion tulle capes which are a trend we have spotted in his previous bridal collection.

For the more traditional bride, Zuhair Murad has a range of opulent white gowns with long, embellished sleeves and exaggerated floor-sweeping skirts, as well as a few streamlined styles such as a draped silk dress with just a handful of tiny sequins scattered around the neckline.

The collection was influenced by Jardim Botanico, the majestic botanical garden located in Rio de Janeiro. The imaginative motifs of flowers, foliage and birds appeared on the wedding dresses, veils and capes. Fabrics included tulles, silks, and chiffons, while embellishments varied from gleaming crystals and pearls to delicate embroideries. Many of the dresses were embroidered from the neckline to the hemline, and each of them features beautiful botany-inspired details.

The campaign images for this extraordinary bridal range were shot in black and white because they really make Murad’s signature embellishments pop, and this time the backdrop for the photos was a huge factory-style window overlooking the breathtaking New York City skyline. Relaxed but elegant up-dos and striking evening make-up perfectly matched the looks.
