Modern vs Traditional: Romona Keveza Autumn/Winter 2017

Romona Keveza’s bridal collections for autumn/winter 2017 offer a myriad of stunning white ballgowns as well as gorgeous on-trend looks for modern brides.

Each season Romona Keveza makes two distinct bridal collections – one for traditional brides and one offering more edgier looks. Inspired by legendary brides such as Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy, Legends by Romona Keveza celebrates femininity, classic style and tradition, offering a range of new timeless looks for brides. The collection comprises of 14 striking white wedding dresses, each superbly tailored and perfectly embellished. Alongside the graceful and voluminous ballgowns, the designer offered a few fit-and-flare looks for brides who want classic elegance but a more contemporary silhouette.

One of the dresses from the new Legends by Romona Keveza range was inspired by Grace Kelly’s iconic wedding gown and features a tightly fitted bodice with a long-sleeved lace overlay, a dramatic ballgown skirt and a wide satin sash which beautifully accentuates the waist. Trendy details like plunging necklines and structured corset-style bodices feature on satin ballgowns are beautifully incorporated in this collection.

The other Romona Keveza collection offers a modern take on traditional wedding dresses, boasting a range of chic styles with cutting-edge silhouettes, contemporary colours and innovative embellishing techniques. We love the short, asymmetric dresses featuring ethereal organza overlays that create that fashionable high-and-low shape. There are quite a few effortless wedding dresses ideal for informal or semi-formal daytime celebrations and a selection of exquisitely embellished gowns for evening receptions. The romantic, princess-style gowns have embroideries, lace appliques and fluttery tulle overlays with floral motifs scattered everywhere.

One of the showpieces of the Romona Keveza autumn/winter 2017 collection was definitely the blush pink tulle gown with a strapless bodice embellished with sparkly beads and accessorised with a dramatic cathedral-length cape in blush pink dyed silk tulle which softly swirls around the body. If you are a modern-day princess bride who wants a fab alternative to a traditional white dress, than this gown is ideal for you! The blush and lavender fit-and-flare wedding gown with metallic embroidery is also a stand-out piece trendy brides will love.

But this versatile on-trend bridal collection also boasts a few classic looks. We adore the draped strapless ballgown which was worn with a cropped bridal jacket and features bold floral appliques, and the utterly sensual strapless lace A-line gown with a deep V-neck. Styled with bejewelled headbands and elaborate white bouquets, even these cutting-edge architectural pieces exude classic elegance.
