Galia Lahav Spring 2017: Le Secret Royal

Inspired by royal gardens, Galia Lahav created a stunningly beautiful collection of wedding dresses featuring extravagant silhouettes, subtle shades of pink and an abundance of lovely floral embellishments.

The 'Le Secret Royal' collection by Galia Lahav boasts 14 fabulous floor-length wedding gowns, each of them beautifully embellished with crystals, beads and floral appliques. From breathtaking ballgowns with dramatic skirts through to beautiful mermaid shapes, the dresses are wonderfully flamboyant and very feminine. Entirely constructed corset bodices accentuate female curves while opulent tulle and silk overlays add volume to the skirts.

The collection evokes the sensation of walking through a majestic royal garden teeming with delicate flowers, and we think it is a grand vision of a spring wedding. Influenced by regal fashion, the opulence of royal palaces and surreal beauty of royal brides, this range truly shifts the boundaries in bridal couture.

Bella and Avena gowns

Floral motifs are featured on intricate embroideries and beadwork while some wedding gowns even feature large three-dimensional blooms which are hand-sewn onto the most luxurious fabrics such as the finest silk tulle and Chantilly lace. Galia Lahav wanted to create a collection of wedding dresses for princesses, and we think that wearing one of them truly makes you feel like a royal bride.

The collection is timelessly beautiful and yet up-to-date with current trends in bridal fashion. Apart from the magnificent 3D blossoms attached to skirts and bodices, fashionable elements include off-the-shoulder silhouettes, ball gown overlays, deep V-necklines and illusion detailing.

Arrabella and Ms. Elle gowns

Our favourite pieces include two gorgeous ball gowns – Arabella, which is made of layered silk tulle entirely embellished with three-dimensional silk blooms, crystals, beads and silk petals and Corina that features a tiny sweetheart corset and full skirt and is adorned with delicate appliques and bright crystals.

Trumpet and mermaid dresses were extraordinary as well! We loved the Ms. Elle gown inspired by the royal white peacock and made from a variety of embroidered appliques cascading down to the back of the skirt and forming two scalloped wings, and the gorgeous Avena mermaid gown which features a sheer low back and embroidered silk net detailing on the dress. Embroidery on Avena dress is created with clear glass beads which exude an illusion of depth, creating a fantastic trompe l’oeil effect.

Galia Lahav’s Spring 2017 collection also includes a range of additional pieces such as overskirts, bridal jackets, detachable lace-trimmed trains and elaborate wedding veils, so that you can put different elements together to create your unique wedding day styling.
