Marchesa Spring 2017

Inspired by fairy tale gardens, Marchesa's collection for spring includes blush pink hues, divine 3D blooms and the finest fabrics to create stunning gowns!

The Marchesa designer duo, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, had a vision of a “regal, enchanted garden with flourishing rosebuds and blossoming florals emerging just as the morning sun rises” which they managed to translate into a stunning collection of wedding gowns. Delicate seasonal flowers were the central theme of their spring 2017 collection, and they appeared in the shape of opulent 3D blossoms and delicate petals sewn onto the ethereal wedding gowns and as the most elaborate lace embroideries. Fabric blooms were featured even on bridal accessories which complemented the dresses so perfectly.

Apart from the floral appliques which are going to be a huge bridal fashion trend next season, the new Marchesa bridal collection features other fashion-forward elements such as plunging necklines, off-the-shoulder silhouettes and removable skirts which allow brides to have two different outfits for ceremony and reception.

Silk ribbons accentuated cinched waistlines and drop earrings were the perfect accessories for these romantic gowns. The collection features a range of silhouettes, and we are sure every bride will find a style that matches her body shape and the theme of the day. Some of the column dresses featured detachable ballgown overlays, offering two silhouettes in one single outfit, and there were also many different fit-and-flare styles as well as A-line options.

We wanted to be playful with the silhouettes, for the modern bride that has a hand in fashion.

- Georgina Chapman

Craig and Chapman experimented with blush hues which perfectly fitted into the garden theme of the collection. The colour palette included various shades of pink as well as white and ivory tones. Blush pinks appeared underneath layers of white tulle to create very subtle hues.

The natural make-up look included pink lips, flushed cheeks and just a hint of colour on the eyes. The look was gorgeous with the elaborate wedding dresses while the hair was styled in a neat up-do adorned with a floral hair piece.
