Jenny Packham Bridal Spring 2017

Jenny Packham’s gorgeous bohemian wedding dresses inspired by the prairies of the Midwest are ideal for rustic countryside weddings!

Jenny Packham described her bridal collection for spring 2017 as a “Midwestern fantasy”. She recreated an American farm style wedding with bales of hay, wooden walls, festoon lights and country music playing in the background for her showing. From wedding dresses, themselves to the hair and make-up, all elements of styling were carefully put together to create a relaxed, effortlessly vintage look with distinct gypsy and bohemian accents.

It is all a bit undone. It’s about that morning-after, still-having-fun vibe.

The colour palette included plenty of gorgeous shades such as soft champagne, blush pink, celadon green and barley, but there were also a lot of fabrics in bridal white and creamy beige. Lightweight silks and chiffons were adorned with Jenny Packham’s signature crystal and sequin embellishments. There were plenty of gorgeous bejewelled tulle overlays and beautiful embroideries, and apart from adorable summery florals, the designer also used shiny star motifs which are so perfect for evening weddings!

The silhouettes were simple and effortless, with loose waists and balloon or cap sleeves – ideal for brides looking for something a little less traditional and very chic. From gorgeous streamlined daytime looks to elegant, sparkly evening gowns, we loved every single wedding gown from the collection, but our favourite pieces include a long-sleeved dress celadon green with bold floral embellishments in rose petal pink, the star-studded short-sleeved number in dark ivory and a simple white draped chiffon dress with a plunging neckline.

The vintage-bohemian mood of the collection was reflected in the hair and make-up styling as well. Loose, textured waves were adorned with thin, crystal-studded hair bands, and the soft natural make-up palette perfectly complemented the look.

The beautifully embellished dresses are so easy to style because you don’t need elaborate hair pieces or heavy jewellery. All you need is a few  simple and elegant accessories such as a pair of pretty earrings, a long delicate necklace or a headband. This collection is suitable for any venue, be it a church, beach or a lavish function, but they are ideal for rustic-style reception venues such as wineries, country estates or gardens.
