Elie Saab Bridal Spring 2017

Elie Saab’s first ever bridal collection in his new bridal line comprises 25 stunning looks ranging from elaborate short styles and bridal trousers to bejewelled floor-sweeping ballgowns.

Every Elie Saab couture show ends with a breath-taking wedding dress, and he earned an outstanding reputation as a bridal fashion designer long before he launched his own bridal label. His debut collection of wedding dresses stays true to the brand’s aesthetics so, there are a lot of embellishments, princess-style gowns, fashionable silhouettes and translucent fabrics. The key pieces from the spring 2017 collection are glamorous and flamboyant, made from luxury fabrics and adorned with crystals, beads, feathers, embroidery and three-dimensional blooms. Styled with incredible accessories, these dresses are timeless, feminine and romantic but also right on-trend.

Saab’s show-stopping wedding gowns are just as glamorous as his signature red carpet dresses, and some of the looks were in fact inspired by the runway. A fashion-forward bride will definitely find her ideal wedding day attire in this collection, but a traditional one will have plenty of options as well.

The short wedding dresses are just as stunning as the long ones, featuring infinite layers of frothy tulle, divine floral embroideries, delicate hand-sewn appliqués and intricate beadwork. Trendy degrade beading and 3D blooms appeared on both extravagant voluminous gowns and slinky dresses, so there is an amazing choice of embellished looks ranging from traditional to daring.

The collection also includes some simple, streamlined looks such as a draped A-line dresses, bridal trousers with embellished shirts, sleek gowns with long slits and effortless lace dresses which are ideal for bohemian-style destination weddings. For brides who love modern, playful bridal outfits, Elie Saab created a few fun looks such as a floor-length ethereal gown with a mini skirt underneath and a lace jumpsuit embellished with fabric flowers.

Elie Saab’s gorgeous bridal accessories were perfectly coordinated with each of the outfits. Footwear styles included embellished ballerinas, elegant flats accentuated with bows and peep-toe boots while hair pieces ranged from bejewelled headbands and sparkly tiaras to elaborate floral headdresses. There was also beautiful veils and amazing feather boleros, embellished bridal jackets and cute clutch bags adorned with ostrich feathers. And if that isn’t enough, a temporary tattoo saying “oui” which is French for “yes” gave the look a modern edge.
