The perfect summer wedding dress should be as light as a feather and just a little bit sparkly to reflect the sun light while you are saying your vows by the ocean! This is just what Mark Badgley and James Mischka had in mind when designing their new bridal collection! Each of their gowns from the line passed the “pinky test” which consisted of holding the dress up with a pinky finger. But despite their weight, the dresses are still dramatic and voluminous with plenty of layering and delicate embellishments.
The spring 2016 range is very special for the designer duo. It is comprised of 8 fabulous pieces inspired by friends and family members of Badgley and Mischka who are about to tie the knot next year. The designers made it very personal and full of love which is visible in their sophisticated creations. They opted for a smaller collection, and worked on each gown to create a unique style that really reflects the characters they were influenced by.

We thought about our friends who are getting married, and their own needs, wants and desires for their dresses.
Gleaming embellishments are the key elements of each Badgley Mischka bridal collection as they believe every bride should look dazzling and sparkle on her big day. This time crystals and beads were elusive and strategically scattered on fabrics, influenced by various vintage pieces from their previous collections. All the beadwork was done by hand which added a couture quality to these ethereal wedding gowns.
From traditional silhouettes to modern Hollywood-style designs, this superb small collection caters for very different types of brides, and every dress has a personality of its own. A shimmery strapless gown with a ruffled tulle overlay is one of the most romantic looks from the show, along with a layered tulle and lace number and a princess-style ball gown. Other silhouettes include column, sheath and A-line, and the designs can be described as a wonderful compromise between glamorous red carpet dresses and lavish wedding gowns.
To complement these utterly glamorous gowns, designers opted for a red carpet beauty look which included bold red lips and side-swept loose curls.
