This ceremony is not just about film and silver screen stars but also about luxury couture gowns created by the most respectable fashion designers around the world, so brides-to-be looking for styling ideas can certainly find inspiration for their big day.
The red carpet was flooded with gorgeous white and silver gowns that could easily double as wedding dresses. One of our favourite looks was a custom-made strapless gown in silver by Calvin Klein. Reese Witherspoon looked spectacular in it as the silhouette beautifully accented her body shape and she picked fabulous accessories to complement the gown. Her wavy hair was swept on the side and beautifully paired with nude lips and bold eyes.
Diane Kruger also managed to pull off a silver gown on the red carpet. She picked an elegant dress from Emilia Wickstead’s latest collection and wore it with elegant silver earrings and a metallic clutch bag. With Hollywood waves and smoky eyes, the whole styling looked even more sophisticated, and we think it could be a great combination for a glamorous evening reception.
Emily Blunt wore a bespoke white cross strap gown from Michael Kors and accessorised it with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. We think her statement earrings paired with a bracelet and ring in the same design are the perfect way to add “something blue” to your wedding day outfit, while braided hair, glittery bronzed eyes and peachy lipstick wonderfully complemented both the dress and accessories.
A tight-fitted, embellished wedding gown by Zuhair Murad is a fantastic choice for a bride who wants to look sexy on her big day, and we love how Chrissy Teigen looked in it at the Golden Globe Awards. She accessorised it with gorgeous Harry Kotlar jewellery, elegant silver clutch, natural make-up and a relaxed half-down hairstyle.
Louise Roe opted for a blush pink dress draped around the waist with plunging neckline designed by Jenny Packham. It is a gorgeous look for a summer wedding, and the bohemian-style hairdo with a braided crown teamed with pale lips and smoky eyes was the perfect match for this romantic dress.
Sienna Miller looked dazzling in a flamboyant Miu Miu gown with dramatic V-neck and intricate embellishments. Elegant Jimmy Choo heels in silver, a pink satin clutch and art deco earrings were just the right accessories for this dress, and her bob haircut and nude make-up looked stunning too.
Kate Beckinsale looked divine in a neutral grey toned Elie Saab gown. The 41-year-old British actress looked radiant in the silver sequin ensemble with plunging neckline and paired the dress with Bulgari jewelry and Salvatore Ferragamo sandals. While Salma Hayek Pinault opted for a white strapless ball gown by Alexander McQueen cinched at the waist with a silver belt.
Lupita Nyong’o's dress was definitely one of the most stunning ones seen at the Golden Globes 2015, and we recommend this style to brides who wish to add a pop of colour to their spring or summer wedding. It is a Purple and white strapless dress by Giambattista Valli with delicate flower petals sewn into the bodice and a beautiful ombre-style floral design printed on a fluttery skirt.
If you are looking for inspiration for your bridesmaid’s dresses, we suggest you should look at what Amy Adams, Naomi Watts and Jenna Dewan Tatum sported on the red carpet. While Amy Adams wore a light blue, draped, one-shoulder Versace gown, Naomi Watts opted for a simple bright yellow strapless Gucci dress accessorised with a statement snake necklace from Bulgari. We also loved the romantic lemon yellow gown from Emilio Pucci worn by Jenna Dewan Tatum.
