Ruby's Mount Kembla

Nestled on the escarpment overlooking the Illawarra in the historic mining village of Kembla Heights, Ruby’s Mount Kembla was originally built in 1892.

Mount Kembla traded as the village store and was also the Post Office to a thriving community of coal miners and their families in the late 1800s.

Named after Ruby Moore, a famous local resident and Post Mistress during the 1920s and 1930s, the store has undergone much careful restoration and is now home to one of the most well-loved restaurants in the Illawarra.

With a country feel and the convenience of all amenities, Ruby’s Mount Kembla are honoured to provide their services for your ceremony and reception all in the one venue. The picturesque sandstone courtyard, cottage garden or veranda are the perfect locations for your wedding ceremony. Ruby’s Mount Kembla is a fine dining restaurant and also a wedding and function centre catering for all types of occasions.

Small, intimate wedding receptions of up to 50 guests can be accommodated in the romantic cottage, featuring the warmth of antique dressers, Baltic pine walls and tallow wood floors. Larger wedding receptions of 50-120 guests can be catered for in the beautiful silk-lined marquee, which sits within the candlelit courtyard and gardens at Ruby's Mount Kembla.

The unique location of Ruby’s Mount Kembla, its award-winning food and excellent service will make your special event or wedding a day to remember!
