Island Vows: A New Wedding Chapter at El Nido

The most memorable celebrations have a sense of place. I am always drawn to thoughtful design that lets the landscape become part of the story, and gives family and friends a reason to linger.

A celebration with a sense of place

There is something compelling about a wedding setting that takes its character from the landscape around it. At Lagen Island in the Philippines, a new ceremonial hall draws on local craftsmanship, with views towards the forest and limestone cliffs that make Palawan so distinctive.

Following an extensive renovation, the El Nido resort has introduced wedding packages that bring together its ceremony settings, overwater accommodation and event arrangements. For couples considering a destination celebration, there is much here to explore: an intimate gathering in the hall, vows elsewhere on the island, or a longer stay with family and friends.

Architecture that belongs to its surroundings

The ceremonial hall takes inspiration from Palawan's traditional nipa huts. Its thatched roof and rattan-lined interiors introduce texture and warmth, while the A-frame structure frames the surrounding scenery.

According to the resort's July 2026 announcement, the hall seats 56 guests. Other ceremony locations on Lagen accommodate celebrations of up to 80, with options including Bea's Cove, Garden Cave and Cliff Rock.

The appeal is in the choice of setting. Couples can begin with the atmosphere they hope to create, then explore the location and arrangements that will suit their guest list.

From intimate vows to an island gathering

The resort announced its Golden Hour at Lagen package from PHP650,000 for up to 40 guests. Listed inclusions cover a choice of ceremony location, a two-night stay in an overwater villa, a one-tier wedding cake, champagne for the toast, a couples' spa treatment, ceremonial styling and event logistics. Banquet dining carries an additional charge per person.

For couples imagining a celebration that unfolds over several days, the resort also offers the option of reserving the island exclusively. Arrangements and pricing are available by enquiry.

Nearby sister property Pangulasian offers a different setting, with ceremonies beside the beach. Its Sun-Kissed Vows package was announced from PHP600,000 for up to 40 guests, while beachfront ceremony settings accommodate up to 120.

These prices and capacities were supplied in July 2026. Request a current, itemised proposal to confirm availability, inclusions and the total cost for your celebration.

Give yourselves time to linger

With overwater accommodation at Lagen and beach surroundings at Pangulasian, couples may also wish to explore a stay beyond the wedding itself. Ask about extending your accommodation, allowing time to enjoy the setting once the celebrations have drawn to a close.

Before booking, discuss guest accommodation, island transfers, wet-weather alternatives and dining charges with the resort. The release includes assistance with wedding documentation among Lagen's package inclusions; confirm the arrangements and requirements that apply to your own ceremony.

A destination wedding begins with a beautiful possibility. The next step is to discover how that possibility will work for you and the people sharing it.

A beautiful setting is only the beginning. What stays with us is the time we share, the people beside us and the memories we carry home.
