How to invite people to ceremony only?

  1. I'm wondering if any past of future brides have had to deal with this situation... Unfortunately, we had to cut our guest list down ALOT to fit our budget and I know some people will be upset when they don't receive an invitation but there was nothing we could do about it. I'd like everyone to come to the ceremony (as that's supposed to be the most important part) but I don't know how to invite people to just the ceremony and not the reception... Our reception is only small, mainly immediate family and a few close friends each and that's it... But we want the ones who we couldn't invite (although we would have liked too) to know they are welcome to come to the ceremony without insulting them by not inviting them to the reception. Any suggestions?

  2. Maybe send out invites but only with the ceremony time and location? I have received an invite like that before but the couple had already spoken to everyone about the reception only being small.

  3. I am worried if I do that people won't understand as our ceremony and reception is at the same place. :(

  4. I'm having this exact same problem. I'm planning on sending seperate invitations to the ceremony only, and just hope people will understand.
