Pre-Wedding Send-Off Party?

  1. I am Canadian and living in Australia with my Australian fiance, and we have called here home for nearly 6 years now. We have agreed that we will be hosting our wedding in Canada where most of my family still live in August 2016. We have many friends & most his immediate family making the big trip with us, but I feel as though I should host a Send-Off party in Australia BEFORE we fly out to tie the knot for those friends and family who want to celebrate with us, but are limited from making the long and costly trip to Canada. Has anyone done something similar? if so what would you 'call' this kind of party, and what would be the norm? I really just want to be able to include all of our friends in our marriage, as we have had so much love and support here.

  2. You could have an 'I do BBQ' may not be a send off party as such but it is celebrating you both saying 'I do' and it will be reasonably cheap with it being a BBQ
