The Academy Awards ceremony is not just about the awards, it's also about glamorous dresses! The red carpet at the Oscars is a showcase of the best couture gowns designed by some of the worlds renowned designers.

This year’s red carpet was particularly inspirational. There were many breathtaking gowns which are simply ideal for weddings.

One of them was certainly Cate Blanchett’s Nude Armani Prive dress with delicate capped-sleeves and embroidered with sequins and Swarovski crystals.

She accessorised the dress with a pair of gorgeous opal drop earrings by Chopard. To match this romantic styling, she opted for vintage hairdo with old Hollywood waves.

Her make-up was very simple and natural with taupe and brown eyeshadow, false eyelashes, a bit of blush on her cheeks and soft pink lipstick.

Margo Robbie

Margot Robbie looked stunning with her new dark brown hair colour styled in elegant bouncy curls with a sleek side part.

While many celebrities sported natural make-up looks, Margot went for a more evening glamour look with berry lips, dark brown eyebrows and spectacular eyelashes.

She wore a stunning black Saint Laurent black strapless dress with a large bow on the back embellished with sequins.

Besides her sleek new locks and stunning gown, we fell in love with her stunning Forevermark Diamonds – the gorgeous chocker pulled her entire look together.

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson’s old-school red carpet glamour was by far our favourite look of the night. She wore an elegant silver gown by Atelier Versace with a low-dipping neckline, a dramatic open back and structured shoulders that draped down at the back.

With so much drama in the dress, she limited herself to a few delicate pieces of diamond jewelry and an art deco-inspired clutch.

Her hair was parted on the side and curled into soft mermaid waves, while the make-up was dramatic with heavy smokey eyes matched with sensual pink lipstick. The perfect look for your big day!

Her hair stylists, Chris McMillian said "we were inspired by Jerry Hall so I created a sleek wave with curling irons and then placed it over her shoulder."

Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong'o wore a customised powder-blue Grecian dress with plunging necklines front and back custom designed by Prada. She paired it with stunning Fred Leighton jewellery.

A gold and diamond headband was a great addition to her red carpet look and a great idea for future brides-to-be.

Giuliana Rancic

Giuliana Rancic’s fairy-tale gown created by Australian designer Paolo Sebastian looked is an ideal wedding dress.

The top of the gown features beautiful embellishments and the skirt is made from layers of tulle. She wore it with Forevermark Diamonds jewellery, a Judith Leiber clutch and Sergio Rossi shoes.

Her hair was parted on the side and gathered in a bun, while her make-up was very effective with brown smokey eyes, big eyelashes and a matte lipstick in nude colour.
