New York Fashion Week catwalks were flooded with opulent white gowns as designers aspired to create elegant summer dresses which could easily be translated into wedding dresses. Whether you are planning a formal wedding or a relaxed beach party, have a look at our selection of looks from NYFW…
While Michael Kors designed some cute cocktail-style frocks, from luxurious white lace, which could be the perfect choice for a beach wedding, Jenny Packham opted for lightweight tea-length dresses with subtle beadwork which could be perfect for an elegant summer reception.
Oscar de la Renta created some wonderful floral gowns in pastel colours, but also used white laces, silks, tulle and Ostrich feathers to create very romantic bridal dresses for the summer. Monique Lhuillier’s spring/summer 2015 collection was romantic as well, with fluttery fabrics in white gold, lavender blue or blush pink and feminine silhouettes with peplums and full skirts to achieve that princess effect.
We have also seen some cutting edge bridal designs like Carolina Herrera’s geometrical white ball gown with abstract floral print broken into pieces and Zac Posen’s bridal dresses with modern silhouettes and high-tech fabrics.
For vintage-loving brides Honor created a wonderful a range of sixties-inspired white dresses which includes both long styles with loose waists and cocktail-style A-line frocks, whereas Tadashi Shoji teamed long white skirts with cropped and lace tops to create luxurious boho dresses.
