Engagement Ring Trends We Love

When trying to picture your dream engagement ring, are you thinking of a cushion cut diamond or an oval stone? Does it have split shank or a delicate setting?

Finding the right ring isn’t an easy job so we have summed up a few of our favourite trends to help you decide.

Split shank design with a cleaved band which perfectly frames the centre stone is a very sophisticated choice. This trend is becoming more and more popular as it gives a stylish twist to the more traditional style engagement rings.

Delicate settings with petite diamond accents are also hugely popular at the moment and can be less expensive than other engagement ring settings. Many celebrities rock this trend including Anne Hathaway, Britney Spears and Drew Barrymore.

If you want a truly spectacular diamond ring but can’t afford a large gemstone, a cluster of small diamonds is a wonderful alternative. You can also opt for a bejewelled band instead of a classic engagement ring with one stone. You can choose a band with coloured stones or even stack several of them for a more modern and chic look.

Rose gold is another new craze that we love. It is very romantic and feminine and goes well with diamonds and pinkish morganites. Made from gold and copper, rose gold is very durable and the soft blush hue blends nicely with both silver and yellow.

Oval cut has the effect of elongating a woman’s hand and looks very elegant. We particularly liked Blake Lively’s engagement ring in rose gold with oval cut diamond designed by Lorraine Schwartz.

A cushion cut diamond is even more popular with celebrities at the moment and our favourite example is Kim Kardashian’s $8 million engagement ring. This type of cut has rounded edges and perfectly reflects the light.
