Christ Church St Laurence

Christ Church St Laurence is centrally located at Railway Square in Sydney's CBD. The church was completed in 1845 and is steeped in rich history!

The building itself is sandstone with a soaring steeple that emits the melodious sounds of bells every Sunday. Inside the church are famous paintings, stunning stained glassed windows, an impressive fresco behind the altar and a golden triptych in the chapel. It is certainly a sight to be seen. Reminiscent of older European churches and smaller cathedrals, the faded smell of incense greets you as you enter the church. Christ Church St Laurence worships in the high church Anglican tradition with a choir that is world famous.

The church can offer wedding services with the full nuptial mass, bells, choir and organ or something as simple as a stand-alone ceremony in the presence of witnesses. Weddings at Christ Church St Laurence are not limited to Anglican couples. Comfortably seating up to 350 people, surrounded by most modes of transport and within walking distance of some of Sydney’s finest reception venues, Christ Church St Laurence is an incredible venue for your ceremony. A heritage hall connected to the church is also available for cocktail receptions. To enquire about holding your wedding at Christ Church St Laurence contact the Parish Office on or 9211 0560.
