From streamlined white dresses to romantic blush pink gowns, many red carpet looks from the 2016 Golden Globes are simply made for that walk down the aisle!
Malin Akerman in Reem Acra
Every year I am looking forward to watching the Golden Globe Awards Ceremony as it is the first Hollywood event in the calendar that sets trends in both the fashion world and bridal industry. The gowns are as important as celebrities themselves, and the red carpet arrivals are as exciting as award announcements. It is so often a parade of the best frocks from couture collections, some of them exclusively made for the occasion.

My favourite wedding-worthy looks from this year’s Golden Globes include 8 gorgeous dresses ranging from glam vintage to contemporary chic. One of them is certainly Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s champagne/gold dress by Atelier Versace that features sparkly embellishments. Rosie took the opportunity to announce her engagement at the awards ceremony and she looked truly dazzling! Eva Green also sported a glittery dress by Elie Saab and Malin Akerman opted for a Reem Acra gown with a peplum waist.
White was one of the most popular dress colours at the 2016 Golden Globes, and almost all of the gowns could double as wedding dresses. Lily James looked stunning in a crisp white draped gown by Marchesa, while Saoirse Ronan picked a Grecian-style dress with a cape-style train by Saint Laurent.

Nude and blush shades were also prominent in the red carpet. Rooney Mara and Amanda Peet wore Alexander McQueen gowns with ruffles and lace detailing, while Cate Blanchett opted for a vintage-style dress by Givenchy Couture that features elaborate embroideries and shiny tassels. One of my favourite nude dresses was also Corinne Foxx’s embroidered frock by Paolo Sebastian. The gown features beautiful spring motifs and it is from Paul Vasilieff’s The Nightingale collection.
