Romantic, ethereal and beautifully sparkly, the fall 2016 bridal collection by Marchesa features everything from flamboyant ball gowns to short cocktail frocks.
“Bridal really embodies everything that we at Marchesa believe”, said Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman about their bridal range which is unmistakably romantic and sophisticated. Their collection for autumn 2016 is one of the most beautiful they ever made and features delicate beadwork which sparkled in the sunlight so magically inside their New York loft studio where they showcased the gowns.
Embellished bodices were paired with ball gown skirts made from softest tulle, while their A-line and mermaid dresses were crafted from opulent laces. The designers embraced the multi-way wedding gown trend and presented a fabulous lace dress with a big peplum skirt overlay which can be removed after the ceremony. This look is perfect for a modern bride who wants two different wedding day looks in one single dress.
From traditional ball gowns to slimmer silhouettes and simpler designs which are ideal for destination weddings, there is a look for almost any type of bride. The collection also includes an above-the-knee cocktail dress with illusion neckline and a ballerina-style skirt, cleverly accessorised with trendy open-toe booties and a short veil. One of the looks we loved the most is a dramatic ball gown with a big ruffled skirt and a bejewelled bodice. Embellishments include shimmery crystals, metallic embroideries, pearl beads and 3D blooms, and accessories like bridal crowns, elaborate headpieces and statement jewellery subtly underlined the mood of the collection.
