Inspired by Frida Kahlo and other great women in history, Naeem Khan created a beautiful eclectic fall collection that boasts everything from fashion-forward kaftans to traditional ball gowns.

Naeem Khan’s collection for autumn 2016 is wonderfully versatile and boasts a range of stunning ball gowns, stylish bohemian frocks and cute short dresses. There were even some innovative pieces such as an embellished bridal caftan and lace shorts paired with a floor-sweeping lace cape. Each look was accessorised with statement earrings and a stunning floral crown made of real blooms and metal flowers. These elaborate accessories were inspired by Frida Kahlo’s signature style, just like the hair which was neatly gathered in two symmetrical plaits and make-up which was focused on the stained red lips.

While all the wedding dresses were beautiful, an ivory ball gown with silver and gold embellishments which closed the show was definitely one of the most striking pieces. Styled with a big golden crown, statement earrings and translucent gloves which mimic the embellishments on the dress, the gown is sexy and modern and yet evokes the romance of Marie Antoinette’s spectacular wedding attire.

Colour-wise, Naeem Khan has thrown in a splash of bright pink into his ivory and white palette. His beautiful pink gowns make fantastic alternatives to classical white wedding dresses, and brides can choose between a sexy frock with floral appliques and a princess-style ball gown with embroidered bodice.
