Bridal Inspiration From Fall/Winter 2015/2016 Couture Shows

From thirties-style frocks to exaggerated ball gowns, couture collections for the next season are full of fresh inspiration for brides who want to look impeccably stylish on their big day!

While Karl Lagerfeld once again shocked us with his casino bride dressed in a white trouser suit at Chanel Couture show, couture collection by Valentino was surprising because of the prevalent dark hues and the noticeable absence of bridal-style laces and embroideries. However, the designer who inspired us the most was Zuhair Murad with his adorable gowns embellished with gleaming stars. After a defile of sparkly dresses in a rainbow of colours, he showcased his glamorous white bridal ball gown covered with silver stars!

Giambattista Valli’s dramatic ball gowns adorned with oversized floral appliqués and embroidery looked both retro and modern, while Alberta Ferretti’s printed silk dresses, bohemian laces and ruched tulle oozed with 19th century romance.

Elie Saab’s sparkly gowns were inspired by his designs from the 1990’s, and some of them featured empire waists and puffed sleeves, while Atelier Versace introduced some unexpectedly romantic elements such as colourful florals and corsets paired with ruffled skirts.

Schiaparelli’s dresses featured quirky illustration by French artist Joann Sfar, while Alexis Mabille’s wedding gowns in soft ivory and pastel tones were adorned with flower appliqués and gleaming embellishments.
