Choosing Bridal Accessories For Autumn & Winter Weddings

Most brides choose to celebrate their big day during spring and summer, but we think that autumn and winter weddings can also be a great choice, because the weather gives you endless options for styling and wearing more bridal accessories!

You can pick a huge, layered, absolutely flamboyant dress, throw on a fabulous bridal jacket for the ceremony and finish off the look with an elaborate headpiece, glamorous shoes and a pair of luxurious gloves!

Whether you prefer an elaborate Grace Kelly-style wedding gown or a more relaxed and trendy but equally glamorous dress, we think a fur bolero or stole is a wonderful bridal accessory that will not only keep you warm, but also make you look even more alluring on the aisle. You can also consider wearing a classic bridal jacket to add another layer to your gown, or throw a chic capelet over your shoulders. Modern day brides also wear fur gilets and shrugs, but a delicate knitted scarf or a pretty cardigan can also be a lovely addition to your wedding outfit, especially if you are planning a low-key countryside winter wedding.

Make sure to find a pair of shoes to complement your gown and keep your feet warm as well! Think elegant ankle booties or winter pumps in satin or plush. If you prefer wearing flats on your special day, think winter ballerinas embellished with lace, glitter or floral appliqués, and if you love vintage, consider hand-made Edwardian or Victorian-style footwear, or even twenties or forties-inspired dancing shoes which make a truly unique bridal accessory.

To keep your hands warm on your autumn or winter wedding, wear a pair of embroidered gloves or a faux fur muff to complement your bridal jacket and finish off the look with a gorgeous headpiece such as royal-style tiara or a crystal-studded headband.
