Inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Jenny Packham’s bridal collection for spring and summer 2016 oozes with the romance of the renaissance era and features amazing vintage elements intertwined with the hottest wedding trends.
With flowers painted on walls, the catwalk resembled a set design for Shakespeare’s play and it made spring-inspired wedding dresses look even more magical. Floral motifs and delicate fabrics were enriched by intricate embellishments and princess-like lace overlays, creating a surreal image of a fairytale bride marrying her prince charming. Swarovski crystals resembled raindrops scattered over clouds of tulle and cascading silk chiffon, and some dresses featured fabulous velvet ribbons in contrasting colours which were neatly tied around the waist.
Silhouettes range from romantic empire waists and dramatic A-line skirts to simple column dresses and short cocktail styles. With plenty of beautifully effortless summer dresses – ideal for a destination wedding, the collection has a distinctive bohemian flair and we loved the flower corsages and bouquets with foliage, which made the perfect accessories. It also featured glamorous dresses with big skirts, constructed corsets and gleaming embellishments, as well as ball gown alternatives with lovely lace overlays and organza blooms. Silver shoes and sparkly tiaras perfectly complemented dreamy wedding dresses, and the models looked like fairies from an enchanted forest with candy lips, pink cheeks and wavy hair.
