Julien Macdonald’s spring/summer 2015 ready-to-wear collection was truly spectacular and featured his first ever wedding dress worth over four million pounds. “It is the most important day in a woman’s life and why not have the most expensive dress in the world”, he said about his gorgeous gown that closed the show. This sexy fit-and-flare lace dress was inspired by mermaids and underwater treasures and is adorned with real diamonds and ocean pearls.
The collection also features sexy a ruffled cocktail-style dress in crisp white paired with a dramatic lace veil which we think is ideal for summer weddings, but there were also a number of glamorous white frocks that could double as bridal gowns. Apart from white and ivory, the colour palette includes soft pastels such as blush pink and sky blue which are perfect for bridesmaids, while fabrics are very lightweight, fluttery and adorned with metallic embellishments.
Make-up by Val Garland was inspired by Julien Macdonald’s mermaid bride and the focus was on glowing, sun-kissed skin. Metallic smoky eyes gave this gorgeous natural style a bit of edge, while sleek, textured hair was neatly backcombed and tied with elastic bands. We think this lovely summery look is perfect for glamorous beach weddings!
