The Who’s Who of Wedding Tasks

When it comes to organising a wedding there is a list of tasks traditionally assigned to the bride, groom, bride’s mother and father, matron of honour and best man.

While the bride-to-be has a lot of fun duties such as organising an engagement party and choosing decorations, the groom’s job is to organise everything from the wedding venue fees to the honeymoon.

There is also a list of things that the bride and groom should do together which includes choosing the reception venue and the wedding theme, finalising the guest list and making a seating plan.

While main duties of bride’s mother are to mail wedding invitations, assist the bride, and organise the accommodation for the guests, a bride’s father should escort the bride down the aisle to the groom, make sure that the gifts are safe and that the guests are comfortable.

Matron of honour and best man have the longest list of duties and responsibilities. Among other things, matron of honour should assist the bride, help her dress on the wedding day and organise transport for gifts after the reception. However the groom has most difficult assignments since among other things he needs to pay for the wedding venue, assist the groom, help bride’s parents and take care of the chief bridesmaid.
